We are a leading Swiss auctioneer, and we exclusively deal with original posters. We conduct every spring a life auction in Zürich. In the following we will make a brief introduction of ourselves to you.
AHGT was founded in 1989 by Guido Tön, a life-long Zürich citizen. Our head office has since foundation been located in Moosstrasse 73 in this lovely Swiss city.
Our first auction was completed in spring, 1989, in Swisshôtel International, Zürich. It was a major success, and inspired us to repeat the event every year since then.
In 1993 AHGT was transformed into a Co., Ltd., with Guido Toen as sole shareholder.
Guido’s partner, Ms. Gertrud Wüthrich, was an outstanding support until she unfortunately passed away in 2002. Her place in the company was taken over by Ms. Tamara Maurer same year. Her dedication and long commitment to printed art has made her an outstanding source of knowledge and she is an excellent help for any customer and associate.
Over time AHGT Ag has gained international fame and reputation. Customers – including museums, private people and -collectors, exhibitioners and people who submit posters in commission - are guaranteed trustworthy and competent management and products selected and evaluated with expertise.
Also in questions regarding archiving, storing and restoration we will happily assist you.
Likewise, we’d like to guide you on how to create a database of your collection and if wanted, advise you on how to establish an (electronic, on-/off-line) catalog
The website poster-auctioneer.com was created in 2005/-6 with the objective of helping you to acquire your own posters. Detailed information on poster details, bids and earlier obtained prices are available on the site.
The website also includes a shop where you directly can order posters at the current market price. The shop currently lists more than 3000 original posters by national and international artists.
We continuously strive to improve our collection. If you yourself would own any posters of interest we’d be happy to hear from you. Please send us an email or a postal mail and we will answer you immediately. If this is not convenient for you then you are welcome to call us.
We maintain a price-policy that allows international whole-sellers to buy posters for resale, but also private collectors will find our value/price ratio to be very high. You can rest assured that all prices in the shop reflect true market value.
